Hi I’m Georgie, I am a grey faced Dartmoor ewe, I arrived at AppleCast following an educational role at All Hallows College in Macclesfield. I had my first lamb in 2020… Brenda! She’s an incredibly loud character, one of the loudest we have. She has a blue tongue, which is quite unusual for my breed. I can be a little shy, but I will do anything for my food. I am a throwback which means I have a genetic defect that causes me to be a different colour (IE: the black sheep of the flock). This means I won’t be able to be registered as a pedigree and this is why I don’t look like a traditional Grey-faced Dartmoor.

Hello my name is Brenda, I am one of youngest of the group, I am Georgie’s first Lamb and I was born here at AppleCast in March 2020. I kept the staff on their toes for the first 48 hours of my arrival but I was soon fit and fighting after lots of love and care from our animal team. I am one of the loudest sheep that we have on the farm and my nickname is lion sheep.

Hello, my names Jake. I was the first one of the 2022 lambs so I’m the coolest. My dad is Barry the North Ronaldsay Ram and my mum is Brenda the Grey Face Dartmoor making me extra rare! I don’t think there’s another one of me in the world (the humans can’t find another one anyway). I love it here and I fit in so well with this crazy bunch as I’m a little bit extra. I’m so special that all the sheep argue over me as they want to claim me as their own, but mummy Brenda always wins that argument.

Baa, my names Jimmy and I was born here in March 2021 to mum Georgie and dad Ralph. I’m the most sociable sheep and I’m always the first one to come and greet people when they come to see us. I can get a little bit over excited sometimes when the humans come in and I jump up and give them a hug. I just love a cuddle and just want to be everyone’s best friend.

Hello I’m Ralph, I joined AppleCast in July 2019, I am a truly pampered boy and I love lots of cuddles and attention. I have recently become a daddy to a few babies here at AppleCast. Even though I think I’m massive, I can be a big softy. My main hobbies are sunbathing, using staff as a scratching post, which then usually goes too far and results in them going flying! Oops. Oh and of course eating lots of food! I am one of the rare breeds at AppleCast, I am pedigree Grey-face Dartmoor sheep.

Hi, my names Mary and I was born here in March 2021 to mum Patricia and dad Ralph. You can tell me from the others as I have the biggest black splodge on my nose and everyone tells me I’m the pretty one. When I was born I had a huge head that used to get stuck in the fence, nobody lets me live it down. I’m the shyest of the group and I don’t like a fuss.

Hi, my names Sophie and I’m twins with Sedrick. We had to be hand reared which suits us because we got 24 hour attention when we were first born and now the humans are wrapped around our little hooves. I’m unbelievably cute and I don’t mind bragging about it. Everyone treats me like a princess and I love it.

Hi, my names Sedrick, or Sedders as a nickname. Me and Sophie were born 21st March 2022, nobody knew there was going to be 2 of us so it was a great surprise. My main hobbies are eating, sleeping, head-butting and winding Sophie and the humans up – I’m just like my dad Ralph! Me and Sophie are best buds though and I’ll always protect her. We do everything together.

Hi my name is Yvette, I do look very similar to my mum Woodlark. I am the proud mum to quite a few babies and for the past couple of years I have had twins. I love being a mum and they all say i'm the best mummy of the group. All of my babies have grown up and gone on to new homes to other people that like to keep us rare breed sheep.

Hello there, I am query and I am the oldest sheep here at Applecast I was born on the 13th April 2009. As us sheep get older we start to lose our front teeth, this is completely normal and because I am so old now I no longer have any teeth at the front. I do still have my back teeth so I can still eat perfectly fine. I am the friendliest of the group and usually the first over for the food. I am the most unique of my family because I am the only one without any horns.

Hello, My real name is Tara but those silly humans that look after us call me many other names, I think that their favourite is psycho sally. They usually call me this when they are trying to get hold of me. I have this really cool trick where they get me In a corner with the rest of my family and then I do a ninja kick towards them and make them fall over, they have to start all over again then to catch me. Its hilarious. I am usually the one that is stood at the back of everyone keeping watch as I am the leader of the flock. My job is to keep an eye open for danger and to keep these girls in check.

Hello, I am one of the youngest of us adult sheep and I live in here with all of my family. My mum is Woodlark and my sister is Yvette but she is older than I am. I was born on the 27th May 2018 and I am a fully registered North Ronaldsay ewe. The humans took me to my first show in June 2022 and I absolutely loved it, I was so proud that I was chosen to be taken to Cheshire show with one of my beautiful lambs.

Hi, My name is Woodlark I live in here with my 2 beautiful daughters Zeta and Yvette. I was born on the 17th April 2015 making me one of the oldest sheep at Applecast. Did you know that us North Ronaldsay sheep are a very special breed. We have many unique qualities that other sheep do not have. The best for us is that we have self-sheering wool, This means that our wool will start to come away and rub of when it starts to get warm. It won’t all come of but it will come away on our necks allowing us to stay cool until we are able to be sheered.

Hello, my name is Charles; I am the youngest North Ronaldsay Ram here at AppleCast. My Mum is Yvette and my dad is Barry. I am certainly a big Favourite from the humans, even if they say they do not have them. I just love having a good cuddle with my best human friends and jumping over to chill in with my pals joey and pepper!
